July Musical Production

Class Description

These holidays, we will be producing a Musical in 1 week! After the success of our productions of High School Musical Jr and Finding Nemo Jr in 2023, and Winnie the Pooh The Musical written by our very own Will and Katie Toft in 2024, we're so excited to be bringing back this 6 days intensive workshop! We will be announcing the show and audition dates for lead characters mid-term. DATES: 1st - 6th July 2024 TIMES: 9AM - 4PM WHERE: Riverside Conference Centre, Chelmer COST: $460 WHO: Ages 6+ (all experience levels welcome) SHOW: 6th July @ 2PM WHAT TO EXPECT: Students will spend their days working with their scripts, teachers and cast mates to learn lines and develop their characters. We’ll have music rehearsals where students won’t just learn the notes and lyrics, but will learn about voice technique, harmonies and projection. Students will receive one-on-one coaching on their voice and acting skills. We’ll work as a team to create some magical costumes and set pieces at a team! Students will work with their choreographer to do daily stretches and warmups and learn simple and fun movement for the show. A few featured dancers will learn some more advanced choreography. The teachers also will perform in a special showcase and hold a Q&A session for students about the theatre and music industry during one of the lunchtime - this is a great opportunity for our older students who are interested in a career in the arts to ask any questions! We’ll have morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks each day (food is not provided). The show will be on Saturday afternoon at 2PM with lights, microphones, sets and costumes. Auditions will be announced later in Term 2! TICKETS on sale at the start of the workshop week for family and friends.
