KIPA (Kids in Performing Arts) is BeXD Create’s specialised Musical Theatre term class in Indooroopilly for students aged 9 - 12 who want to develop stronger singing, acting and stage skills in a supportive, confidence-focused environment.

Our training is industry-informed and practical - but our priority is always the joy, wellbeing of our students to ensure these young performers grow into resilient, confident people and enjoy their artistic journey!

Who KIPA is for?

KIPA is designed for young performers who already love singing, acting or performing and want to develop their skills further.

Many students in this class have previously participated in BeXD workshops, school productions or other performing arts programs and are looking for a weekly class where they can grow their musical theatre skills alongside other passionate young performers.

If your child is brand new to performing arts, our Musical in a Week holiday workshop is often the perfect starting point.

Students develop real performance skills with teachers who work in the industry, but in a classroom where creativity, mental wellbeing and confidence come first.

What is KIPA?

KIPA (Kids in Performing Arts) is a term-based performing arts program designed for kids who want to explore Musical Theatre in a supportive, confidence-focused environment.

Students learn singing, acting and performance skills while working together on creative projects that celebrate imagination and teamwork.

For many students, it’s their first step into performing arts. For others, it becomes the place where their love of theatre continues to grow.

At BeXD Create, the goal isn’t to create “stars.”

The goal is to help young performers feel confident, expressive and proud of what they create.

Practical Musical Theatre Training

The performing arts industry can sometimes be intense and competitive.

At BeXD Create, we believe young performers should develop resilience, confidence and creative joy alongside their technical skills.

Our classes prioritise positive rehearsal environments, supportive feedback and celebrating each student’s individual strengths.

A Healthy Approach to Performing Arts

Across the term, students develop real performance skills including singing technique, character work, acting through song and stage performance.

Teachers share practical insights from their professional careers in musical theatre and stage performance, helping students understand how rehearsal rooms and auditions work in the real world.

Students learn how to approach material, build confidence performing in front of others and support each other as an ensemble.

What makes this program special

 Confidence Comes First
 

 Many performing arts programs focus on perfection or competition. KIPA takes a different approach. Students are challenged to grow their skills in a supportive environment where confidence and celebrating uniqueness matters more than perfection.

Each week they build the courage to express themselves, share ideas and step into the spotlight. 

 Creative Term Projects
 

 Every term includes a creative project that gives students something tangible to feel proud of while building real performance experience.

Students might create a music video, prepare a mock audition, perform scenes from a musical or collaborate on a short performance that celebrates their creativity and teamwork.

 What Students Experience
 

 Each class combines singing, acting and storytelling with practical activities to keep students engaged and growing.

Through games, rehearsal work and performance exercises, students build practical skills while learning how to collaborate with others and bring characters and stories to life together.

 Support for Every Student
 

 KIPA is designed to support both beginners and experienced performers. Students receive individual encouragement, feedback and guidance so they can grow at their own pace.

 Why Musical Theatre?

Over the years BeXD has run more programs than we could count - from drama and film acting to songwriting, K-Pop dance, script writing, singing and ballroom.

In 2026 we made the difficult decision to simplify everything we do and focus on the one thing we believe we do best.

Today our programs focus on teaching practical, industry-informed Musical Theatre skills while ensuring students enjoy the journey, build confidence and grow into resilient, creative performers.

To ensure every child receives individual support, we limit the number of new families joining each term.

Trying a new activity can feel like a big step for both parents and children. That’s why we offer trial classes during the first three weeks of term so families can experience the class before committing to the full program.

If they don’t leave feeling proud and excited to return, we’ll refund the trial.
