Class Description
Join our teens holiday program at the Somerset Civic Centre in the June/July school holidays. This 5-day intensive workshop for teens - Acting for Stage and Screen. This workshop will run 9am - 4pm Monday to Friday (3rd - 7th July). The workshop is open to ages 10 - 19. During this program, students will work with scripts from modern plays, television and movies, musical theatre and maybe even a bit of Shakespear. We will look at acting techniques, vocal technique, script writing, physicality, improvisation, what it's like to work on a film set or in a theatre show, and much much more. The student will also devise and shoot an entire short film during the week! Our teachers are currently working in the theatre and film industry and have a wealth of knowledge to share. They are passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where students can take creative risks, feel safe to make mistakes and have fun. Is your teen interested in the Film & TV industry? Do they want to become a scriptwriter? Do they love Musical Theatre more than life itself? Whatever their creative dreams are, this program will help turn those dreams into goals and introduce them to a community of like-minded peers, teachers and industry professionals. Please be as detailed as possible on the enrolment form so we can really build this program around the students. This program is $400, but it has been been partially subsidised by the Somerset Regional Council who are covering 50% of the cost for local families. We also have a 10% discount available for bookings of multiple children. Enrolment is open below. Spaces are limited.
